Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of tasks related to bending operations. Note: This description does not necessarily encompass the entire scope of the position. 

Daytime work schedule: 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • Operate the folding machine;
  • Inspect parts produced;
  • Visualize parts to be folded;
  • Follow and respect safety procedures;
  • Obtain materials needed to complete job;
  • Perform bending and cutting operations using appropriate equipment;
  • Inform supervisor of any problems, defects or non-conformities;
  • Perform required maintenance on equipment;
  • Keep equipment clean and in good condition;
  • Occasionally operate hoists and cranes;
  • Maintain a clean work environment;
  • Check the quality of work performed;
  • Perform all other related tasks as required.
  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in tinsmithing / sheet metal work required or equivalent;
  • 2 years’ experience as a bending machine operator in a plant and/or equivalent experience;
  • Knowledge of bending processes; Ability to read and understand simple instructions;
  • Ability to handle a variety of small hand tools.
  • Regularly be able to stand up, use hands and fingers, manipulate or feel, talk or listen, and smell;
  • Must frequently be able to walk and bend;
  • Be able to withstand relatively high noise levels;
  • Be able to lift and move parts weighing between 30-40 lbs on a regular basis;
  • Ability to work on feet (stand or walk) for a full shift;
  • Willing to perform other general duties as assigned by management.
  • Proven bilingual verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently;
  • Ability to work efficiently;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a strong team atmosphere;
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with employees and supervisors;
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently in a high-pressure environment;
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and individually in a collaborative environment.
